Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the 12th grade and three 3 years of progressively skilled experience in building/industrial maintenance and repair.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to the elements of inclement weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration.
The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and risk of electrical shock. The employee may be exposed to the hazardous conditions of a construction site. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position is designated as an emergency/essential position and may be required to respond in a variety of emergency situations.
The employee is responsible for using safety devices and protective equipment in order to minimize the frequency and severity of workrelated accidents. The employee is also responsible for using safe practices and methods in the operation of equipment and supplies related to their particular job. The employee is further responsible for correcting and/or reporting any conditions within the building or grounds that may be hazardous to the public coworkers or other county employees.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions procedure manuals and commercial catalogues.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers vendors and employees.
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs and charts.
Ability to apply common sense understanding; to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
