The Office of Recruitment and Admission at the University of Dayton invites applications for the position of Associate Director of College Access Success and Transitions. This individual will be able to inspire as well as engage students community partners stakeholders and supporters from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences.
Reporting to the Director of College Access Success and Transitions the Associate Director will join a team of enrollment management professionals as an Admissions and Recruitment team member. Aimed at fostering a universitywide culture of collaboration that supports and enhances student success and academic achievement the successful candidate will work with the Flyer Promise Scholars leadership team to create and implement proactive strategies to enhance the Scholars experience while supporting the Universitys retention persistence and graduation goals. In this role the Associate Director will serve as the primary point of contact for designated cohorts and will assist Scholars in navigating the Universitys policies procedures and available resources.
Focused on providing personalized comprehensive holistic student support and coaching to the Flyer Promise Scholars the Associate Director provides learning opportunities as well as creates conditions that lead to the achievement of scholars curricular and cocurricular goals. The Associate Director will also monitor student persistence and progression towards graduation utilizing appropriate advising technology. The Associate Director will oversee the Flyer Promise Scholar minicourse and supervise the Flyer Promise graduate assistant.
Bachelors degree in student development counseling education or a related field.
At least 5 years of related experience in higher education.
Conveys strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide authentic personcentered advising to students while maintaining confidentiality in all studentrelated matters.
Strong problemsolving skills.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Excellent communicator in both verbal and written forms.
Fosters the ability to build rapport with Pell eligible students and families.
Evidence exercising sound judgment and provide strategic thought leadership to the Recruitment and Admissions team.
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
Possess a Masters degree in Higher Education College Student Personnel Services/Student Affairs Social Work Education Counseling Communications or closely related fields.
At least 7 years of related experience in higher education with a focus on student success initiatives.
Certifies 10 years of successful experience serving and/or leading in studentfacing roles working at a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
Articulates and demonstrates a clear vision of strategies that allow students from underserved backgrounds to achieve successful college admittance enrollment retention and graduation.
Shows an understanding of enrollment management student success practices and/or student development theory.
Possess the ability to cultivate relationships with institutional donors as well as key internal/external stakeholders.
Possess knowledge of UDs educational policies and graduation requirements.
Demonstrates the ability to work both independently and as part of cohesive work teams.
Demonstrates experience and knowledge working with student information systems such as Banner CRM systems and/or related reporting software.
Shows experience working with a variety of socially and culturally diverse communities.
Knowledge of or willingness to engage with Catholic and Marianist educational values.
