Job Description
Some of the duties required as school counselor is tohelp students develop academic social and emotional skills collaborating with teachers parents and administrators to create a positive school environment. They provide individual and group counseling crisis intervention and support students with IEPs and career exploration. They also implement guidance programs assess students and develop plans to address their needs.
- Individual and Group Counseling: Providing support for academic personal and social concerns.
- Crisis Intervention: Responding to and managing crises or emergencies affecting students.
- Consultation: Consulting with parents teachers and administrators about student needs.
- Student Records: Updating and maintaining confidential student records.
- Transition Support: Assisting students with transitions such as entering a new school or moving to middle school.
- Collaboration: Working with teachers parents and administrators to create a positive and supportive school environment.
- Prevention Programs: Implementing developmentally appropriate prevention programs to address student needs.
