ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting toSenior Project Manager Capital Planning this position is responsible for taking a lead role with consultants and partners and coordinating Water and Wastewater issues and projects such as the Water and Wastewater Master Plan Update the 10 year capital plan and other special projects servicing plans and studies. Provides technical advice reviews new developments maintains and operates water and wastewater hydraulic models and assists the Manager in preparing project plans project implementation and developing processes for ongoing activities.
WHAT YOULL BE DOING
Provides project management services for a variety of projects and studies in support of master plan and asset management plan activities.
Assists the Manager in developing processes for ongoing activities associated to water and wastewater servicing and capital planning.
Maintains and updates the water and wastewater hydraulic models for planning purposes.
Runs the water and wastewater models for analysis of different scenarios as requested.
Prepares terms of reference for modelling related projects manages projects including expenditures quality control and schedules.
Prepares water and wastewater inputs to DC bylaw updates and to the development of financial agreements provides technical input related to the development of the Asset Management Plan.
Provides technical support on the review of new development as it relates to the longterm capacity of regional water and wastewater systems
Participates in the preparation of WWW Master Plan Update the 10year capital plan and other servicing plans and studies.
Supports the review of various plans and proposals to assess their impact on the longterm infrastructure program recommended in the WWW Master Plan Update.
Coordinates and/or leads project teams participates in team building activities coaching and mentoring of staff as directed and provides technical expertise.
Participates in the assumption and transfer of WWW facilities between the Region and local municipalities.
Works with the Manager to develop relevant performance metrics for WWW planning and manages performance to meet or exceed targets.
Conducts technical analysis involving population projections flow records design parameters and supply/treatment capacity.
Provides support on maintenance and update of databases for information pertaining to the Regions water and wastewater system.
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
Successful completion of a University Degree in Civil Environmental or Chemical Engineering.
Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (). with the Professional Engineers Ontario.
Minimum of five 5 years of demonstrated experience (inclusive of EIT experience) in all aspects of municipal engineering in water and wastewater systems.
Thorough knowledge of project management in functional organizations.
Good understanding of process management and experience in developing processes for ongoing activities.
Strong knowledge of water treatment and distribution systems wastewater collection and treatment systems and their operations complex hydraulic systems pumping stations piping and valve design and operations.
Strong knowledge of water and wastewater computer modelling (e.g. InfoWorks InfoWater).
Knowledge of the planning process land development procedures and the planning issues pertaining to water and wastewater servicing.
Ability to demonstrate the Regions core competencies.
Knowledge of relevant regulations guidelines procedures and legislation including those under Water Resources (Environmental Protection Act and Ontario Water Resources Act) and Planning (Planning Act) and applied engineering knowledge of legislation industry standards and new technologies.
Advanced skills MS Office Suite and use of virtual platforms.
