Job Description
Join Amazons Global Logistics (GL) team as a Senior Data Engineer to help bring worldwide crossborder product selection to customers while enabling sellers and vendors to navigate international trade and logistics effectively. Youll develop analytical solutions that drive insights and optimization working with talented program managers product managers software developers and business leaders to design Amazons network of the future.
Key job responsibilities
Design and implement data modeling warehousing and ETL pipeline solutions
Improve corporate reporting frameworks and data visualization systems
Analyze performance data to discover and solve realworld problems
Build metrics and business cases to enhance decisionmaking
Mentor team members on technical best practices
Collaborate crossfunctionally with transportation tech operations and finance teams
Drive solutions for largescale ambiguous problems using analytics and engineering expertise
A day in the life
As a Senior Data Engineer youll start your day collaborating with crossfunctional partners to understand their data needs. You might spend time optimizing ETL pipelines reviewing code with team members or designing new data models. Youll participate in technical discussions to solve complex problems and mentor junior team members. Your work directly impacts Amazons global logistics operations helping to ensure products reach customers efficiently worldwide.

Experience with data modeling warehousing and building ETL pipelines
Experience with SQL
Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language such as Python Java Scala or NodeJS
Experience mentoring team members on best practices
CDK Fluency
Experience building/operating highly available distributed systems of data extraction ingestion and processing of large data sets
Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift S3 AWS Glue EMR Kinesis FireHose Lambda and IAM roles and permissions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $139100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
