The opportunity
We are looking for an R&D Project Manager to join our Technology & Solutions Development (Business R&D) organization in HVDC at Hitachi Energy in Sweden. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a talented team of engineers and lead R&D projects focusing on the development of innovative control and protection solutions for HVDC applications.
HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 60 years and is an enabler for renewable energy integration supporting future energy transition for a sustainable future. This position will be based in Ludvika or Vsters.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Set up and execute R&D projects together with your project team in alignment with our R&D portfolio management.
- Develop detailed work plans schedules project estimates and resource plans perform risk analysis and monitor the progress of plans against project milestones and budgets.
- Proactively work with the team to identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with the implementation of new solutions. Develop risk management plans and strategies to respond to risks as they arise.
- Drive requirements analysis prestudies solution development and documentation of results in the projects.
- As an R&D Project Manager you will be a part of the R&D Project Management Office. As a team we are all responsible for working on our processes quality learning from/helping each other and developing individually and as a team.
Your Background
- University degree (M.S. or Ph.D. in electrical engineering or similar with a strong technical background in HVDC FACTS substation automation.
- Proven experience in program or project management particularly in HVDC control and protection deliveries with a track record of managing complex research and development projects from inception to completion.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall project management methodologies with the ability to adapt approaches based on project requirements and constraints.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to anticipate challenges and proactively implement solutions.
- Ability to lead geographically dispersed teams in a multisite global environment with fluency in English required.
