The opportunity An exciting opportunity exists in our Acid/Granulation Operations department within the Metals division for an Operator located in Fort Saskatchewan AB. The purpose of this position is to oversee the startup and shutdown processes monitor equipment within the circuits and ensure the safe operation of systems while established settings and parameters. In addition operate the Distributed Control System (DCS) and manage and direct the workflow processes effectively.
In this role you will be accountable for:
Troubleshooting circuit and equipment upset conditions or issues.
Operating automated control systems.
Monitoring and inspecting plant equipment.
Measuring temperature flow and pressure.
Analyzing and recording instrument readings.
Performing routine equipment maintenance.
Cleaning and lubricating machinery and components.
Maintaining a daily log of operation maintenance and safety activities.
Skills and attributes for success:
4th Class Power Engineering Certificate (ABSA) is required.
35 years of process plant experience; DCS experience preferred..
Sulphuric Acid Plant experience is an asset.
Ability to work 12hour rotating shifts.
Strong problemsolving troubleshooting and communication skills.
Teamoriented mindset.
