Performs Laboratory testing on patient and control samples. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures. This knowledge includes the use of specialized analytical instrumentation clinical correlation of test results quality control requirements and preventative maintenance. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process through professional development continuing education data collection and evaluation and quality assurance.
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of AHMC Anaheim Regional Medical Center. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values of AHMC ARMC. The employee shall support AHMC Anaheim Regional Medical Centers strategic plan and goals and direction of the performance improvement plan. The employee will also be expected to support all organizational expectations including but not limited to; Customer Service Patients Rights Confidentiality of Information Environment of Care and AHMCARMC initiatives.
Earned a doctoral or bachelors degree in a chemical physical biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
Two years experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in an acute care laboratory preferred.
Experience working in a blood bank.
Current State of California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
American College of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) registration preferred
