Job Description
Experience & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an inperson medical assistant program from a vocational technical or career school
- Minimum of three 3 years experience in a health care setting preferably correctional health care
- Maintains BCLS
- Required to exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects including the human body.
- Required to kneel stoop crouch and/or crawl occasionally.
- Frequent walking throughout site; to include walking up and down flights of stairs.
- Must have and maintain sufficient strength agility and endurance to perform during stressful (physical mental and emotional) situations encountered on the job.
- Occasional running when responding to emergencies; must be able to perform BLS.
A background check security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.

Responsibilities
Below is a list of your responsibilities as a Medical Assistantwith YesCare at Curran Fromhold Correctional Facility in Philadelphia PA.
- Monitors patient vital signs
- Implements orders for diagnostic lab tests according to site policy and The Joint Commission and ACA standards
- Maintains inventory of supplies
- Assists the RN or LVN as needed in the medical unit within scope of practice
- Maintains confidentiality of medical records
- Documents in SOAP format all healthrelated encounters for patients
- Records EKGs as directed by nurse
- Assists physician with minor procedures
- Maintains and cleans medical unit/equipment on a daily basis and as needed
- Works in conjunction with the nurse to maintain daily duties required to run the clinic in an organized fashion
- Assists with maintaining SENTRY and CorrecTek recordkeeping
- Obtains specimens as directed and in accordance to policies and procedures within the scope of practice
- Utilizes infection control techniques in a consistent manner
- Attends mandatory monthly staff meetings
- Collects data for Quality Improvement programs as assigned
