This position provides the primary program management (PM) support for select US Air Force (USAF) research and development (R&D) contracts in UDRIs Materials Sector. This person will interact with customers PMs principal investigators division administrative staff and financial analysts to support large sponsored R&D programs developing and transitioning advanced materials and processes for USAF needs. The work will primarily support the Department of Defense and will interact with internal and external stakeholders.
The Program Manager will ensure that each project assigned is managed to meet requirements for cost schedule performance risk change scope and quality. This position will also support financial objectives by assisting with identifying resources forecasting materials and services preparing an annual budget scheduling expenditures analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions. The Program Manager must obtain operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews resolving problems identifying trends determining improvements and managing change. The Program Manager facilitates administrative and technical support for status reviews and client meetings.
Bachelors Degree and minimum 6 years experience in project management.
Experience managing IDIQtype contracts
Experience working with a Program Management Office
Experience in planning organizing and executing technical projects.
Experience managing project cost schedule performance scope risk change and quality.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers.
Successful collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
Familiar with compliant rules for ITAR CUI and security classification and DoD files management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Visio Project).
Formal education in project management.
Experience with representing the organization as a prime contact on projects.
Possess current SECRET DoD security clearance
Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen.
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
Bachelor s Degree plus minimum 10 years experience in project management
Experience managing DoD or Air Force technical projects.
Working knowledge of US Air Force policies and procedures.
Selfstarter with excellent writing and briefing skills.
Experience with Integrated Master Plans and Integrated Master Schedules.
Certified Associated in Project Management (CAPM) or equivalent certification (i.e. DAU PM Lvl 1.
Experience managing government contracts CDRLs deliverables and .
Ability to obtain PMP within one year of hire.
