This position provides basic cleaning service for Arizona Army National Guard buildings: Dormitory Rooms Administrative Offices Classrooms Medical Examination Rooms (NonBio Hazard) and associated hallways. Includes Entrances Stairwells All Common areas including Public Restrooms Laundry Rooms Game Rooms Lounges maintain outside walkways and grounds. Supervises inmate labor to assist in cleaning duties. Coordinates cleaning efforts with Contract Custodial personnel.
Responsibilities include:
Clean hard surface floors by wet mopping stripping residue or spotting and buffing. Vacuums floors as needed and spot cleans carpet areas with cleaning agents.
Collect dirty bedding towels and wash clothes. Prepares linens for dormitory rooms linen exchanges and vendor pickup.
Clean restrooms toilet floors chrome fixtures and mirrors using cleaning agents.
Dust and polish furnishings in offices and dormitory rooms. Clean outside areas and common areas.
Empties and disposes of waste from all offices and dormitory rooms. Collects and disposes of waste refills dispensers.
Maintain record for cleaning supplies used and on hand. Maintains inventory of cleaning equipment used for cleaning.
Knowledge of:
Cleaning procedures sanitation safety and Right to Know program.
The operation and maintenance of powered cleaning equipment.
Cleaning agents and chemical reactions when mixed.
Basic grounds keeping methodology and plant life maintenance.
DEMA building security procedures.
Skilled in:
The effective use of powered cleaning equipment.
The application of cleaning methods and techniques.
Rotating and storing cleaning supplies.
Positioning self to avoid injury when lifting heavy objects.
Ability to:
Manage and organize time.
Oversee work processes.
Record and report supplies used and required as well as equipment.
Communicate both orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Effectively work with minimum security inmate personnel.
Work with little or no immediate supervision.
Desired qualifications include any combination of experience education and training that meets the knowledge skills and abilities as described. The preferred candidate should have 1year minimum experience as a Custodial Worker I or equivalent.
Special Job Requirements:
This position requires possession of and ability to retain a current valid stateissued drivers license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R210207.12.
Individuals are required to pass a criminal background investigation.
Must be willing and able to supervise DOC minimum security inmates.
