Job Description
Location: Lexington MA
Job Type: W2 Contract
Background/Need:
The group seeks a software developer to support largescale data processing projects. The technical staff will design the software architectures and relevant algorithms. Under the guidance of the technical staff the implementation integration and testing of these systems is undertaken by professional software engineers hired as contingent workers.
The candidate will implement algorithms for processing large datasets obtained from a proprietary database platform. This work may include frontand backend development. The candidate must be experienced in software requirements design development integration testing documentation and maintenance. Work will be executed primarily in Rust and Python in a Linux environment using open source and custom software.
Must Have:
Experience developing RESTful and/or SOAP based web services.
Strong objectoriented development skills.
Experience with modern development tools such as git JIRA Confluence Jenkins etc.
Solid understanding of Linux operating systems.
Experience with the Rust programming language.
Experience with creating and managing Docker or Podman containers.
Front end development with modern visualization tools (e.g. Grafana or Kibana).
Familiarity with standard SQL databases.
Works well in a fast moving small team environment.
Nice to Have:
Experience developing scalable software architectures in a cloud environment.
Knowledge of full software lifecycle automation and testing tools in a DevOps environment.
Expertise in high performance multithreaded applications.
Experience with at least one NoSQL database technology.
Expertise in modern software design patterns and frameworks.
Familiarity with embedded systems architectures.
Unix shell scripting capability.
Comfortability in designing and/or working with statistical inference models.
Education & Experience: Bachelors with 5 years of relevant work experience.
Work Authorization: US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
