Job Description
Primary Function of Position
This Software Engineer Coop will work closely with the software product engineering team in Durham NC to develop software solutions for the daVinci line of products. This person will report directly to the Software Engineering Manager but also work closely with engineers on the team.
Essential Job Duties
- Work closely with the software engineering team to develop software solutions as well as investigate debug and document system software issues.
- Excitement and selfmotivation to learn and investigate difficult technical problems.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Qualifications :
Required Skills and Experience
- Programming in C/C and/or Python preferred but similar languages may be acceptable.
- Communication and documentation be able to provide detailed instructions or explanations of software and technical topics.
University Hiring Program Eligibility Requirements:
- University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degreeseeking academic program in the Spring.
- Coop Work Period: Must be available to work fulltime (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 1224 week period starting August or September. Specific start dates are shared during the recruiting process.
Required Education and Training
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or related degreeseeking program at the Masters level. Bachelors students will also be considered based on specific relevant experience.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Embedded Software development experience with building for testing and troubleshooting embedded software.
- Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and practices git svn Jenkins automated testing monitoring and alerts integrations etc.

We provide marketcompetitive compensation packages inclusive of base pay (paid at an hourly rate) benefits and a housing allowance. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role as actual pay will be determined based on several factors including relevant skills and experience for this internship degreeseeking academic program (PhD Masters Bachelors etc) year in school and location. The hourly rate is prorated against the intern program salaries listed and total program compensation will be based on internship duration.
