Job Description
The Today Show is seeking a Senior Weather Producer to field produce collaborate with corporate clients and manage a fastpaced schedule. This role demands a passion for travel the ability to perform under pressure and a flair for crafting engaging memorable television moments.
This role requires shift work including some weekends.
Day to day you will:
- Research and implementation of daily weather segments on Today and Weekend Today
- Manage the busy travel diary for weather across Today and Weekend Today
- Work with corporate clients to meet their objectives while making great television
- Manage the presenter and crew and representing the Nine brand while on location
- Book paid weather segments and working with the Commercial Manager to meet budget objectives
- Produce breaking news coverage from the severe weather events Working early mornings and travelling as required for daily broadcast
- Other duties and projects as required.
Qualifications :
What we would like to see:
- Strong experience in journalism news and current affairs
- Sound editorial judgment and a deep understanding of the media environment and its challenges.
- Proven management skills with the ability to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships including highprofile talent.
- A Bachelors degree in Media Journalism or a related field.
- Solid understanding of fair dealing laws media industry regulations and TV production
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Outstanding time management and organisational abilities
- Creative thinking and the ability to perform under pressure
- Ability to actively develop industry contacts to enhance weather content.
