The Affinity QA team is a small but mighty group focused on quality assurance across all Affinity software and services. Were part of a wider team that handles testing localization and supportmaking sure everything we release is polished reliable and ready to delight our users. Were handson with every stage of the process from spotting bugs to improving usability and we work closely with teams across the company to make sure our products are the best they can be.

This is a fixed term contract role until approx. January 2026.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney Australia but we have a swanky new office in London that has all the bells and whistles. Even though youll find us in Shoreditch you have choice in where and how you work (Nottingham office London office or remote) we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

What youd be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think thats all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things youll be working on when you start but this will likely evolve.

At the moment this role is focused on:

1. Testing Installs Software Content and Support Services

  • Test Affinity software installs patches and content including versions in different languages and multilanguage setups.
  • Follow structured testing procedures while also engaging in exploratory testing to uncover anything unexpected.
  • Use a mix of tools and platforms (like VMs remote desktops and drive images) to ensure everything works as expected in the right environments.
  • Investigate issues thoroughly to determine the root cause and how to reproduce them.
  • Review fixes and changes in new builds and participate in alpha and beta testing phases.
  • Take part in external beta cycles and monitor user forums to identify any quality issues.
  • Back up test results and store important files to ensure smooth operations.

2. Usability & Productivity

  • Test related servicessuch as patch delivery websites and software security featuresto ensure they are accurate and userfriendly.
  • Proofread documentation to verify its clarity correctness and usefulness.
  • Occasionally test custom builds and marketingspecific installs.
  • Check thirdparty software and content to confirm compatibility with Affinity products.

3. Communication

  • Share your testing results clearly with QA teammates and other departmentsmostly using tools like Jira.
  • Keep the QA Lead and other team leads updated on progress and flag any major issues quickly.
  • Occasionally help out with community engagement on Affinity forums and support other departments like Tech Support Sales or Services when needed.

Youre probably a match if

  • You are comfortable working independently or as part of a team and are able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • You are skilled at investigating issues identifying root causes and reproducing errors for effective resolution.
  • You have handson experience with VMware and other virtualisation technologies and a solid understanding of Microsoft Windows and Apple operating systems.
  • You are skilled in writing and executing test scripts to ensure software functionality and performance.
  • You can showcase practical experience using tools like Jira for bug reporting and TestRail for managing test cases.
  • You have prior experience in reporting detailed reproducible bugs to development teams.
  • You have any working knowledge of Affinity products this would be a bonus and familiarity with professional creative software is preferred.
  • You have any working knowledge of the effects of localization and working knowledge of other languages would be looked on favourably.


About the team

As part of the team youll play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our Affinity installs software content documentation and support servicesboth before and after release. Your sharp eye for detail and problemsolving mindset will help us deliver a smooth userfriendly experience for our customers.

Youll be handson with testing processes identifying and communicating any bugs or usability issues. Youll also collaborate with teams across the company to help improve the overall functionality and productivity of our products and support services.

Strong communication is essential as youll be sharing your testing insights with colleagues and when needed with our users. Youll also be an advocate for our company policies helping to maintain a safe and supportive workplace for everyone.
