Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive learning environment. The role involves providing crucial support to students with autism ADHD and other learning challenges ensuring they have equal access to education and the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oneonone support to students with special educational needs including those with autism and ADHD to help them participate fully in the classroom environment
  • Collaborate with teachers to create tailored learning plans that accommodate the specific needs of each student
  • Support students in developing social skills and emotional regulation fostering a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Assist with behaviour management strategies providing a calm and nurturing approach to supporting students in times of distress
  • Contribute to the overall inclusive ethos of the school promoting diversity and understanding amongst students and staff
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/carers sharing progress and providing support strategies for the home environment

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience working with children or young people with special educational needs particularly autism and ADHD
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEN and a commitment to promoting inclusivity and equality in education
  • Patience empathy and a nurturing approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and other support staff
  • Relevant qualifications in SEN support or a willingness to undergo training

DaytoDay

  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs in the classroom setting
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement and monitor tailored learning plans for students with diverse needs
  • Assist with the implementation of behaviour management strategies and provide emotional support as needed
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students promoting acceptance and understanding of individual differences
  • Communicate regularly with teachers parents and other support staff to ensure a coordinated approach to student support and progress tracking
