BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Demonstrate proficiency in the performance of all diagnostic and fluoroscopic examinations and equipment. Demonstrate proficiency in the use and application of pediatric immobilization devices adhering to safety precautions. Must prepare or enter written documentation as required by the Department such as informed patient consent patient chart documentation and other related duties. Perform portable and operating room examinations in a timely and professional manner must observe sterile and aseptic techniques when necessary. Check equipment supplies and accessories on a regular basis. Assess the physical needs of the adult and geriatric patients. Demonstrate the ability to recognize and ally patients fears and apprehensions about exams. Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Complete requested examinations in a timely manner observing radiation safety standards. Address the special needs of each age group served and assist in making reasonable accommodations for the hearing impaired physically challenged or any other patients who may enter the Hospital. Observes biosafety and radiation safety rules and regulations. Responsibilities and duties may be added changed or deleted at any time at the discretion of the Assistant Director of Radiology or the Director of Radiology either verbally or in writing. Performs related duties in PACS. Responsible for knowing and adhering to established hospital/department policies and procedures including all aspects of safety. Maintain and exhibit behavior that promotes patient confidence and trust. Capable of working independently/unsupervised.

SUNY Stony Brook Hospital is responsible for the operation of the hospital and provision of health care and is the coemployer as is necessary to conduct its responsibilities and for related licensure regulatory or statutory requirements and obligations.
Given StaffCos employment responsibilities it is deemed the employer for employment and labor law purposes. Thus the employees are private sector employees of StaffCo not public sector employees of SUNY. The private sector nature of the StaffCo employees has been approved by NYS Civil Service and upheld in a decision by the US National Labor Relations Board.
