A seasonal Maintenance Worker 1 position offers you a great entry level introduction into the State of Montana workforce to start your career. We are looking for an observant individual that can work both independently and as a positiveminded team member on collaborative projects. You will be responsible for prioritizing the cleanliness and safety of Fishing Access Sites and Wildlife Management Areas along the Rocky Mountain Front.

Job Duties
You will primarily work as a member of a crew tasked with addressing specific maintenance issues. You should be able to take initiative maintain a high level of quality work performance behave ethically and appropriately when serving visitors and recognize and accept authority. You must have the ability to communicate effectively with the public providing accurate information about site facilities regulations and recreational opportunities.
This position is dynamic and responsibilities will change throughout the season allowing you to acquire knowledge in the safe operation of both hand and power tools landscaping equipment noxious identification ATV operation and basic carpentry. You will need to possess the ability to use spreadsheets and other programs necessary to complete maintenance logs and personnel reports
This position requires an individual who can identify maintenance needs and adapt workflows to mitigate public impacts. Specific duties associated with this position include building maintenance noxious control fence repair latrine maintenance and cleaning habitat improvement and road/trail maintenance.
This position will typically work a 40 hour week Monday Thursday. However flexibility exists to adapt work schedules to individual needs on a casebycase basis.
Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):
The knowledge skills and abilities of this position are normally attained through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or equivalency and 1 year of jobrelated experience. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a casebycase basis.
A valid drivers license is required. Students are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will be provided field training to gain familiarity with the sites and associated tasks.
Basic First Aid/CPR certification is required for this position. You must have to ability to acquire the proper license/certification and maintain through continuing education and recertification testing.
Completion of an ATV/UTV safety course is required for this position. You must have the ability to pass an online course which is offered to the incumbent
