About Modulr
At Modulr our mission is to move money efficiently to power business productivity. We are building a new digital payments service to flow more efficiently through businesses and the economy. This is a new type of payments account that is built for businesses that need faster easier and more reliable ways to move money.
Our flexible platform and innovate approach allows our customers to utilise our payments account instead of a traditional bank account. Our accounts come with a sort code and account number access to payment systems (eg Faster Payments and Visa) and everything our customers need from a payments account. They can instantly open as many accounts as they need automate how they make and receive payments as well as the reconciliation processes these create. All in real time 24/7 through their own systems utilising our API that integrates into any platform.
Our founding team has a wealth of experience in the payments industry and growing successful businesses. Modulr is backed by payments giants PayPal Ventures and FIS Ventures as well as startup and scale up specialists Blenheim Chalcot General Atlantic Frog and Highland Europe which enables us to leverage their resources and expertise to drive our growth initiatives. These partnerships provide us with the necessary provisions to propel our business to new heights.

About Role
We are looking for a fresh approach to engineering management one that focuses on the culture and environment it supports for its engineers as well as driving best practice. We want to foster growth and development so that Modulr is the firstchoice workplace for engineers.
Modulr now has over 3people which we have organised into tribes and squads. This role will be a tribelevel role. We are looking for candidates with proven experience of building environment and processes to support selfdriven highlyperforming engineering teams in a hypergrowth companies
Responsibilities:
- Support develop and coach a engineers of varying experience levels through effective 1:1 meeting and 360 feedback whilst working closely with technical leads
- Contribute positively to the development culture at Modulr whilst fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all
- Sponsor a learning environment for your squads and act as a mentor for upandcoming leaders
- Partnering with delivery leadership to ensure teams are properly staffed and able to be highly effective
- Contribute to squad OKRs ensuring alignment with tribe and company level objectives
- Drive and be accountable for technical delivery and work with your team on strategy and including being the advocate for the teams service capability roadmap
- Facilitate collaboration together with engineering and product to tackle interesting and complex challenges across the platform including setting of SLAs and SLOs for the micro services your team owns
- Maintain a flat management structure where possible favoring building networks over hierarchies
Skills and experience:
- Experience of managing motivating coaching and mentoring teams of 5 people and above
- Worked in highgrowth technology function
- Experience of embedding engineering best practices and creating a culture of customer focus whilst maintaining high delivery efficiencies
- Effective at facilitating technical discussions in the team and confident challenging approaches when they dont seem right
- You are an excellent communicator able to deliver information at all levels and influence where needed
- You are a selfstarted motivated team player who thrives in a fastpaced environment
