Job Description

Sacramento County covers 984 square miles and is home to the California state capital 1.6 million residents and seven incorporated cities: Citrus Heights Elk Grove Folsom Galt Isleton Rancho Cordova and Sacramento. The population of Sacramento Countys unincorporated area is approximately 600000. The County is one of the more affordable homebuying metropolitan areas in the state and has a skilled workforce high graduation rates and collegeeducated residents. Residents in Sacramento County have a variety of recreational dining and entertainment options to choose from. The County is home to more than 15000 acres of park plus the 23mile American River Parkway where more than five million visitors enjoy the unique wildlife and recreation area annually.

The County is governed by five members of the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors elected on a nonpartisan basis to serve staggered fouryear terms each representing one of the five districts. The County Executive is responsible to the Board for planning organizing and directing County activities. The Countys Approved Fiscal Year (FY) 202425 Budget is over $8.8 billion and there are more than 13600 fulltime employees.

The Office of the County Clerk/Recorder is comprised of 69 employees with a current annual budget of $12.9 million. The Director of County Clerk/Recorders Office strives to provide responsive efficient and costeffective service to customers while maintaining the highest degree of respect fairness public trust and integrity. Clerk responsibilities include: issuance of marriage licenses; Registrar of Marriages; Commissioner of Civil Marriages; custodian of Oaths of Office; and registration of notaries public process servers professional photocopiers unlawful detainer assistants legal document assistants and fictitious business names. Recorder responsibilities include: recording of real estate and other authorized documents; issuance of birth death and marriage certificates; indexing and public viewing services for official records; and issuance of official record copies. This position is appointed by the Board of Supervisors.

Highly qualified candidates will possess a bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university in business administration public administration or a closely related field. A masters degree is a plus.

The salary range for this position is $190968 $210533 annually plus an additional 3.35 management incentive for a combined total of $197365 $217585.
