About the team and the role:
Join TCGplayer an eBay company on our quest to become the most trusted trading card game (TCG) platform connecting and empowering the hobby community. Founded by TCG enthusiasts we operate a global marketplace and develop tools technologies and solutions that enable small businesses to sell TCGs efficiently and profitably at scale. As a Principal Database Administrator specializing in NoSQL you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our database systems ensuring high performance and scalability to support our mission.
The Database Administration Team at TCGplayer is a skilled group of professionals dedicated to maintaining and enhancing our data infrastructure. We focus on ensuring data integrity availability and performance across our systems. Working closely with engineering and analytics teams we foster a culture of datadriven decisionmaking and continuous improvement leveraging the latest technologies to support our platforms growth.
What you will accomplish:
- Design implement and manage scalable NoSQL database solutions to support our platforms data needs.
- Optimize database performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies to protect data integrity.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate database solutions into the development lifecycle.
- Enhance security measures and compliance across our database systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize data management and resource utilization.
What you will bring:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in database administration roles with a focus on NoSQL technologies (e.g. MongoDB Cassandra).
- Strong understanding of database design optimization and scaling strategies.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools to streamline database management.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
