Job Description
- Assist in the identification of student needs and implement proactive strategies for social and emotional growth and positive interactions in the classroom.
- Encourage social and emotional literacy and growth in classrooms and throughout the school.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to address concerns and support classroom management plans.
- Support the creation and implementation of student accommodation plans including service plans for students receiving support through public or private agencies.
- Help manage and monitor nonpublic school service plans ensuring compliance with all legal and diocesan guidelines.
- Facilitate referrals to outside services when additional support is needed for students and families.
- Promote a positive school climate that reflects the Catholic values and mission of the school.
- Participate in team meetings parent conferences and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation of services provided.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors degree in School Counseling Psychology Social Work or a related field (required)
- Masters degree in School Counseling Counseling Psychology or a related discipline (strongly preferred).
- Experience working with elementary or K8 students in a counseling or school setting.
- Knowledge of socialemotional learning (SEL) frameworks and intervention strategies.
- Familiarity with special education processes accommodations and nonpublic service plans (e.g. ISP 504.
- Strong interpersonal organizational and communication skills.
- Commitment to the Catholic mission and values of the school.
