PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the identification of student needs and implement proactive strategies for social and emotional growth and positive interactions in the classroom.
Encourage social and emotional literacy and growth in classrooms and throughout the school.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to address concerns and support classroom management plans.
Support the creation and implementation of student accommodation plans including service plans for students receiving support through public or private agencies.
Help manage and monitor nonpublic school service plans ensuring compliance with all legal and diocesan guidelines.
Facilitate referrals to outside services when additional support is needed for students and families.
Promote a positive school climate that reflects the Catholic values and mission of the school.
Participate in team meetings parent conferences and professional development opportunities.
Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation of services provided.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education:
Bachelors degree in School Counseling Psychology Social Work or a related field (required)
Masters degree in School Counseling Counseling Psychology or a related discipline (strongly preferred).
Experience:
Experience working with elementary or K8 students in a counseling or school setting.
Knowledge of socialemotional learning (SEL) frameworks and intervention strategies.
Familiarity with special education processes accommodations and nonpublic service plans (e.g. ISP 504.
Strong interpersonal organizational and communication skills.
Commitment to the Catholic mission and values of the school.
