High School English/Humanities Teacher
Lowell High School is an independent BC high school and IB World School. We are currently seeking applicants for the position of Secondary Language Arts and/or Humanities Teacher.
START DATE: September 2025
LOCATION: Vancouver BC Canada
Job Overview
English/Humanities Teacher
The ideal candidate will:
- present qualifications and demonstrated ability to teach English and Humanities courses at the secondary level
- exhibit an understanding of international student learners
- be a positive flexible adaptable individual committed to studentcentered teaching
- demonstrate a willingness to work with a group of professionals to collaborate regarding curriculum assessment instruction and planning in a smallclass environment with an average 1:8 teacherstudent ratio
- demonstrate awareness of BC curriculum requirements and the appropriate application of performance standards
- demonstrate a willingness to work with a group of professionals and collaborate regarding curriculum assessment instruction and planning
- be a communicator with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to create effective working relationships with colleagues and students
- experience working with international students and ELL learners is an asset.
- comfortable using Canvas and technology in the classroom
- demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction to accommodate students with varying language abilities and learning styles.
Qualifications
- BC certified teacher (TRB); or must be immediately eligible for certification
- Experience teaching English/Humanities curriculum at the secondary level
- IB experience preferred
- A keen willingness to support learners.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation and benefits package with a fulltime salary range of $61175 to $70000 based on TQS certification (education and experience).
