Description of the Position:
This position will assist Clean River Partners Community Engagement Coordinator in developing facilitating and evaluating the 2026 Downstream Environmental Film Festival. This hybrid position will have flexible hours in a teamoriented small office environment with occasional remote and offsite work. This is an excellent opportunity to work behindthescenes on an arts event that features artists from local national and international communities.

Clean River Partners is an environmental nonprofit based in Northfield MN. We envision a community that collaboratively creates and protects a watershed with healthy soils; drinkable groundwater; and clean fishable and swimmable rivers lakes and streams. We partner with people and organizations to value protect and improve the Cannon River Watersheds land and water. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Downstream Leadership Committee meetings and prepare agendas
  • Support the Downstream Leadership Committee in developing a theme and vision for the 2026 festival
  • Help judge film submissions
  • Secure venues for screenings
  • Secure doorprizes for screenings
  • Communicate with filmmakers
  • Coordinate special guest appearances
  • Support the Communications Coordinator with the promotional process
  • Develop materials like slideshows and surveys
  • Caption films
  • Help run tech during the screenings
  • Coordinate catering for screenings
  • Coordinate language access and accessibility accommodations for screenings
  • Inventory and order supplies related to the festival
  • Prepare print materials for screenings
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Community Engagement Coordinator

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to interact effectively and sensitively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to follow through on a project with minimal direction
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to document workflows and communicate project status with other team members

  • Works well in a teamoriented environment and can stay on task when working independently
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets databases word processing software and Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
  • Proficiency with shared drives such as Google Drive
  • Helpful but not required:
    Experience and/or interest in the arts
    Bilingual in Spanish Hmong Dakota or Somali
