JOB GOAL:
The STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art and Mathematics) Teacher will provide the necessary leadership and coordination of a K5 interdisciplinary approach to STEAM Education. The teacher will collaborate with the schools administrators and staff to provide expanded learning opportunities for students to develop 21st Century skill sets which focus on the advancing technology which focuses on careers that require a significant level of STEAM knowledge and skills. This position will have a focus on computer science standards at the elementary level.
Munger Mountain Elementary School is an EnglishSpanish dual immersion program. All classes are a mix of active English and Spanish language learners and a strong background in multilingual learner teacher strategies is critical to success.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Utilizes a framework for teaching that is based on natural ways of learning customizable for ALL types of students and programs.
Assists in the maintaining and ensuring a consistent rigorous and equitable educational experience across all gradelevels in math science art and technology education.
Works with Educational Services to facilitate a short and longterm plan for the school to integrate the following STEAM principles into the instructional program: Technology infusion; rigorous projectbased and applied learning experiences; schooltocareer connections for students; and 21st Century skills.
Collaborates with teachers and administration in the maintenance of STEAM curricula.
Develops and carries out plans programs and activities to support the implementation of the STEAM curricula and instructional programs in a classroom setting.
Maintains programs and instruction and ensures alignment of curricula with Wyoming state standards.
Collaborates with math science technology education and art curriculum horizontal and vertical committees.
Ensures that science labs and makerspaces have current appropriate materials (including print software and hardware equipment).
Uses student data derived from various assessments to recommend enrichment experiences in STEAM education.
Provides opportunities for parent and community forums to demonstrate the relevance of STEAM education.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
Minimum
Bachelors Degree.
All abilities of a good teacher: excellent classroom management sound instructional practice ability to communicate effectively with parents and other school personnel etc.
Ability to differentiate for learners at different academic and language levels.
Demonstrated excellence in collaboration with peers and experience working with students at all elementary grade levels.
Understanding of dual immersion programming and research.
Strong advocate for dual immersion program philosophy.
Familiarity with makerspaces and maker programs.
Strong technology experience and skills.
Desired
Masters Degree in technology math science education or computer science.
At least three years demonstrated excellence in elementary classroom instruction.
Extremely proficient in working with multilingual learners and sheltered instruction.
Cultural knowledge and ability to develop crosscultural competencies.
Strong ability to develop meaningful relevant curriculum.
ESL/Bilingual endorsement.
Spanish proficiency preferred but not required.
Experience teaching in a dual immersion program.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must be able to obtain a teaching certificate issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board .
Elementary K6 Science 612 Computer Science 612 and/or Math K12 Endorsements.
An endorsement in K6 Computer Science will be required; which may include an exception authorization issued by PTSB until a Computer Science program has been completed.
The School District places employees on salary schedules on the basis of:
Wyoming experience.
Outofstate experience up to 7 years.
Degree Bachelors Masters or Doctorate.
Semester Graduate Credits beyond Degree.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed materialthe ability to adjust focus and exposure to screen(s) via technology. Hearing ability to monitor activity and presence of students and respond to communication with students and adults is required. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is normally low to moderate but may become loud when large groups are together in a room. The employee may be required to move from room to room to provide instruction and may have to maneuver in crowded hallways. The employee may be exposed to unpredictable weather conditions. This position is typically performed in a hazard free clean and healthy environment.
