Job Summary:
The General Accounting Assistant will review and analyze data manage the general accounting of assigned entities including the month end close position ensures accurate and timely financial reporting adhoc reporting and analysis and prepares detailed analysis. Will review analyze and present findings with recommendations to the Corporate Accounting Manager and perform other financial functions on an asneeded basis.
DaytoDay:
Provide quality employee partner service including meeting internal and external deadlines to ensure quality work.
- Prepare assigned General Ledger entries and related supporting documentation.
- Complete assigned General Ledger account reconciliations.
- Comply with controls to ensure data integrity of all financial information processed.
- Communicate and interact with internal and external employee partners and auditors Financerelated questions and issues to provide high quality service and support.
- Maintain accurate records to support the audit trail for assigned Finance activities.
- Provide the required information to support both internal and external auditors as well as state financial examiners
- Handling accounts payable and receivable creating invoices and managing payments.
- Managing and organizing incoming and outgoing Charities Accounting email inbox.
- Performing any other related duties assigned by Corporate Accounting Manager.
- Identify areas for improvement of processes to increase efficiency.
- Assist and support the Corporate Accounting Manager and Senior Staff Accountant.
- Complete special projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as needed.
About You:
2 years minimum experience as an accounting assistant or related position preferred.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Knowledge of Oracle preferred
- Proficient at MS Office (especially Excel)
- Must be a team player
- Must be highly organized
- Good verbal and written skills; able to work under time constraints and deadlines.
- Star Service attitude.
- Enthusiasm for the changes in policy and processes.
- Adept at learning new computer software and systems.
