About the Role

The role is for an advance practitioner in the fostering team the role involves supporting and supervising foster carers to maintain high stand of foster placements to children in care. As an advance practitioner you will be involved in the recruitment process and assessment of new foster carers completing form F assessments.

The role involves some evening and weekend work supporting at carer events support groups recruitment events and carer training.

>Supervising social workers provide regular support this includes building strong relationships with foster families ensuring they feel supported and that carers understand childrens care plans.

>They act as a key point of contact between the fostering service foster carers and the child or young person. This includes building strong relationships with foster families ensuring they feel supported and valued

>They maintain regular contact with foster families social workers and the child or young person through visits phone calls and other means

>They support foster carers in their training and development helping them to meet their learning objectives and understand the fostering services policies and procedures

>They are responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children in care including identifying and responding to any safeguarding concerns.

>They work in partnership with various stakeholders including the childs social worker local authorities and other professionals to ensure the childs needs are met.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Social work qualification

Extensive experience of working with children and families

. This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (English Language Requirement for public sector workers) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for the role

. A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

. The role requires you to participate in the on call rota.
