The Opportunity:

Red River Coop is recruiting a Meat Managerat our Seasons Food Store located at 755 Sterling Lyon Parkway Winnipeg MB. The Meat Manager reports to the Store Manager.

The Meat Manager adds value to our Cooperative by providing leadership and direction to all aspects of meat department operations.

Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:

  • Provide leadership and direction in the development and achievement of financial results and store budget objectives.
  • Ensure standards of department presentation and operations are met including cleanliness and sanitation food safety inventory control and merchandising.
  • Provide leadership in the area of employee relations including hiring training scheduling development and performance management.
  • Build and maintain a strong culture of employee and customer engagement within the department.

A full responsibility list will be provided to candidates selected for interviews.

About You

To be successful in this role you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • A minimum of three years of retail meat department experience with the ability to cut meat. Previous retail management experience is an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of department financial operations.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate staff to achieve strong operating results.
  • A solid understanding of computer applications including Microsoft Office.
