PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The HVAC Technician is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of all the districts HVAC refrigeration systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Graduate or GED required
Associates degree in HVAC preferred
Three years experience in HVAC
Experience in chill water systems and controls preferred
Refrigerant Recovery Certification
Able to read blueprints and schematics
Must have and maintain a valid drivers license and be insurable
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports chilled and hot water systems.
- Responsible for the maintenance and operation of the HVAC systems which include maintaining filters and coils maintaining cooling towers maintaining valves and control system for all districts HVAC units.
- Replace A/C units as they breakdown.
- Reports any deviation from the normal operation of equipment to the HVAC Foreman.
- Reports to the HVAC Foreman any chemicals or materials needed for the operation of all HVAC systems.
- Responsible to successfully complete all work orders and to submit them to office staff. Responsible to keep logs of refrigerant used.
- Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others. Performs other related duties as assigned.
EQUIPMENT USED:
- Power tools (drill saw etc. hand tools pressure washer district vehicle high lifts twoway radio refrigerant recovery units

- Maintain emotional control under stress frequent district travel continuous walking standing heavy lifting and carrying exposure to extreme weather conditions exposure to electrical and chemical hazards working in high places
