This impactful position requires analytical strength attention to detail open communication and the ability to work autonomously.
The Logistics Manager is a strategic leadership role that partners with Infrastructure teams and various Amazon stakeholders to manage communication team metrics and specific deliverables. This position requires strong urgency sound judgment and the ability to drive teams toward innovation and simplification across local regional and crossregional scales. As both strategist and implementer they ensure streamlined organizational activities that guarantee business success while developing and coaching their team members to make effective decisions and improve organizational culture.
In their leadership capacity Logistics Managers establish and maintain a culture of accountability ensuring team members understand their roles expectations and impact on broader organizational goals. They demonstrate expertise in escalation management consensus building and setting vision and direction for their designated areas. Through their high judgment and expertise they design optimal team structures and mechanisms to meet both immediate and longterm business objectives while proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.
The role requires both tactical and strategic thinking to achieve success. Tactically Logistics Managers ensure efficient team operations SLA compliance and results delivery through effective planning and communication. Strategically they establish goals in undefined areas create vision and align priorities with longterm business objectives. They maintain a strong focus on measurable outcomes datadriven decisions and policy compliance while continuously working to improve customer experience deliverable quality and team environment through root cause resolution automation and strategic project prioritization.
Key job responsibilities
Logistics Operations Leader It is the managers responsibility to guarantee the organization is running smoothly ensuring our service meets the expectations and needs of our customers and business on a daily monthly and yearly basis. Some of these operational tasks include:
Developing performance goals and objectives to achieve customer promise expectations and ensure accuracy and quality
Building and executing productivity plans by reviewing work forecasts determining productivity requirements and partnering with other Logistics Managers to balance labor
Determine timelines that meet business and customer expectations; ensure they are met
Partnering with the management team to establish and maintain quality control standards
Remove roadblocks and obstacles for major initiatives
Logistics Business Leader It is the managers responsibility to act as a Logistics business leader by doing the following:
The primary point of contact for communication and escalation to both internal and external teams/customers within his/her respective area
The primary developer of team strategies vision and goals for their team in alignment with the broader organization
Ensure operational practices are fully compliant with legislation and policy
Generate and/or filter information from higher levels of management to their teams
Creating managing and supporting recognition and communication programs
Logistics People Leader It is the managers responsibility to act as a logistics people leader by doing the following:
Manage and drive staffing plans schedules quality initiatives performance levels and process change initiatives
The primary facilitator of team coordination and cohesion
Maintain a strong focus on personal and team growth and development
A strong supporter of projects outside of daytoday operations
Distribute new opportunities fairly amongst the team when available
Hold regularly scheduled 1:1s with a focus on personal development
Ensure accountability and documentation on coaching opportunities
Opening new requisitions and ensure bar is being raised with new internal hires
Process Improver The manager shall be a champion of continuous improvement by:
Proactively being a driver of process standardization and continuous improvement across the org
Contributes to operational deployment plans outlining critical and best practice launch activities
Teaching how to create documents processes tools and metrics that reflect outcomes
Conducts postdeployment evaluations to measure launch effectiveness (PDSA)
Advise team members on process improvement strategies
Audits The manager will conduct monthly audits using a standardized checklist
Meetings Lead team meetings. The manager may also represent Logistics locally and/or globally
Travel Travel between sites and across the cluster based on the need of the team and business

High school diploma or equivalent
Must have experienced with email Microsoft Office (or equivalent) online tools working with database front ends and deriving reports and presentations.
Must have 3 years logistics experience. Must have 3 experience training and managing people and teams.
Must be accessible at all times via telephone text or similar instant messaging platforms
An ability to figure things out without a road map transform organizations as well as break the mold in terms of ways to reframe and solve problems
Strong decisionmaking skills. Ability to operate with significant autonomy and discretion
