Job Description

Have you ever ordered a product on Amazon and when that box with the smile arrived wondered how it got to you so fast Wondered how Amazon determines what to buy how to buy who to buy and where/how to place it close to the customer. If so OSS Buying is the right team for you.

The OSS Buying team seeks a Product Manager to evolve our inventory optimization algorithms. These algorithms determine optimal inventory purchasing quantities order timing inbound routes and placement across Amazons global fulfillment network maximizing shipping speed and minimizing costs for retail operations while optimizing supplier relationships through strategic buying patterns.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute worldwide product roadmaps for scalable inventory management solutions
Partner with software developers scientists analytics teams and business stakeholders to drive product development
Design and launch data products that enable insights business and operational improvements
Lead crossteam feature development coordination to ensure requirement delivery
Drive operational efficiency through automated solutions and enhanced features
Deeply understand Retail business & Supply Chain user needs to develop effective solutions
Lead datadriven discussions with stakeholders to evaluate opportunities and build consensus for strategic investments
OSS Buying within SCOT Owns:
What to buy
When to buy
Where to place inventory
Purchase quantities
Strategic supplier relationship management
Reducing order variability
Improving supply access
Maximizing fulfillment network efficiency

We manage millions of items across hundreds of product lines representing billions in worldwide inventory. Our pioneering inhouse systems leverage advanced automation and machine learning for inventory and supply chain optimization.

This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of largescale automated inventory management systems while directly impacting Amazons operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.


Bachelors degree
Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
Experience managing technical products or online services
Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executivelevel prioritization and planning

Experience in using analytical tools such as Tableau Qlikview QuickSight
Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
