The Preply Engineering Team provides the tools to help unlock human potential through learning.
At Preply we build scalable and reliable platform using Python/Django with a strong focus on data A/B testing and feedback from students and tutors to guide our decisions. We prioritize product quality through robust monitoring metrics analysis and continuous optimization. Thanks to our advanced CI/CD processes we release code 5060 times per day. As a fastgrowing company we face a wide range of technical challenges giving our engineers plenty of opportunities to grow and make an impact some of which we even share on our Engineering Blog.
You will be joining the Growth Tribehome to multiple missioncritical teams driving how learners discover engage with and stay on our platform. From tutor matching and referrals to app performance B2B onboarding and firstlesson experience this tribe directly shapes the journey of millions of users.
What youll be doing:
- Lead coach and grow 2 teams of diverse and talented engineers always looking for opportunities to improve performance and results.
- Set the vision for the team and create and nurture a culture of high performance.
- Identifying opportunities of highROI projects aligning and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver on these projects.
- Drive a culture of innovation fostering the adoption of AI tools and seeking opportunities to integrate Preplys AI products with the Classroom.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the whole company such as Product Marketing Engineering and Design.
What you need to succeed
- Background: Degree in computer science data science mathematics or a related field
- Experience: 35 years of experience in building leading and scaling development teams
- PeopleCentric Approach and Team Building skills: Were looking for a person with a passion for building strong resultoriented teams and having a team as a main means of achieving results.
- Provide technical expertise: Driving engineering best practices adoption of tools and alignment with architectural standards. Understanding of WebRTC protocol and experience with realtime communication platforms would be an advantage.
- ResultsOriented: Driving performance. Motivate team on setting and achieving ambitious business focused and measurable goal.s
- Ethical Leadership: Lead the team by example demonstrating unwavering commitment to ethical behavior and integrity. Being a moral compass of a team instill a culture that values honesty fairness and transparency in all engineering endeavors.
