Job Description
JOB SUMMARY The Certified Nursing Assistant partners with our residents and other care providers to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment by providing direct and indirect include3 East is a 31bed specialized unit working with Alzheimers/dementia residents and tailoring care to meet their needs. Key aspects of this unit are the use of both verbal and nonverbal communication techniques understanding the difficult behaviors that are sometimes associated with residents that have Alzheimers/Dementia as well as understanding that these behaviors can be valid communications. It provides needed care to those residents needing long term placement in a homelike environment. The Transitional Rehabilitation Unit occupies the second floor of dYouville Pavilion. This 42bed unit provides shortterm skilled nursing and rehab services to patients recovering from fractures joint replacements back surgery stroke and other illnesses or injuries of a shortterm nature where a rehab approach might be beneficial. Nursing services often include IV therapy wound care and geriatric assessment and management. 3 West is a 42bed longterm care unit. It provides needed care to those residents needing long term placement in a homelike environment. JOB REQUIREMENTSEducation:Graduate of Maine State Board approved CNA courseValid on the State of Maine CNA registryExperience:13 years previous CNA experience preferred Will consider new CNAs with relevant work experienceOther Skills Required:Medical terminology preferredStrong teamwork and communication skills ability to work well within a team of other care providersFlexibility required to coverage 24 hours/day 7 days per weekFlexibility to float to other units as neededAn equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
