Job Description
Purpose:
The Head of Infrastructure Engineering is responsible for building and maintaining Client s comprehensive infrastructure strategy. Encompassing DevOps site reliability engineering (SRE) networking data center management cloud operations and platform engineering this role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability scalability security performance and costeffectiveness of our backend infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute a 3 5year infrastructure roadmap aligned with business goals.
Provide handson technical guidance for the SRE Cloud Operations and Platform Engineering teams.
Drive adoption of emerging technologies (e.g. AIdriven automation).
Team Management
Recruit mentor and retain a highperforming team of engineers and technical leads.
Foster a culture of intrinsic motivation continuous learning and blameless collaboration.
Operational Excellence
Oversee design and maintenance of multicloud hybrid and onprem infrastructure.
Implement robust BCDR strategies and conduct regular disaster recovery tests.
Negotiate vendor contracts (ISPs cloud providers) to optimize cost/service quality.
Innovation & Cost Optimization
Balance infrastructure innovation (e.g. GitOps zerotrust networking) with cost efficiency.
Reduce toil through automation (IaC observability selfhealing systems).
Requirements
1. Strategic Infrastructure Leadership
- Proven ability to build and execute a 3 5year infrastructure roadmap aligned with business strategy.
- Must have prior experience leading SRE Cloud Ops or Platform Engineering teams.
- Ability to drive emerging tech adoption (especially AIdriven automation GitOps ZeroTrust Networking.
2. Technical Mastery
- Multicloud and hybrid infrastructure expertise specifically AWS Azure and/or GCP (must have experience in at least two).
- Linux administration and container orchestration expertise deep realworld Kubernetes (or Amazon ECS) experience at production scale.
- Handson expertise with observability tools Prometheus Grafana and working knowledge of SLI/SLO frameworks.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise Terraform (Pulumi is a plus).
- Data center and networking knowledge not just cloudonly experience.
3. Team Management Experience
- Direct hiring mentoring and retaining of engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a blameless highperforming culture.
- Proven history of coaching engineers (must show progression from technical IC leadership).
4. Operational Excellence Skills
- Built or overseen BCDR (Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery) strategies this is mandatory.
- Measurable success maintaining high infrastructure uptime 99.99 and reducing MTTR <15 minutes target).
- Familiarity with cost optimization achieving yearoveryear infra spend reductions.
5. Leadership Style / Cultural Fit
- Influential leader leads through trust and influence not authority.
- Communicates complex technical topics to executives simply and effectively.
- Datadriven decision maker with humility and intrinsic motivation to solve problems elegantly.

- Experience scaling infrastructure teams specifically in the DFW (Dallas/Fort Worth) tech market.

- Familiarity with Linux performance tuning
Must Have Skills: 1 Candidate should be familiar with all aspects of writing PowerBI reports, dashboards. 2 Create a real-time dashboard in PowerBI for Executives 3 Familiar with lap, cubes, RedShift, Terradata, Universes, etc. 4 Experience as a reporting analyst 5 Quick prototyping in PowerBI 6 Expert at visualizations 7 Very good at SQL 8 Excellent Communication Skills 9 Must be able to jump in, no time for hand holding! 10 Must be able to start a week from offer of engagement.
