About the Company and Role
Our client a globalscale Australian gold producer with projects located in the Goldfields Western Australia is looking for an 8/6 FIFO OHN or MESO with at least 3 years of FIFO mine site experience.
The primary role is to ensure the health of employees and contractors through; the delivery of professional health and medical services health promotion proactive injury management monitoring of occupational health functions and the delivery of expert advice and assistance on health and medical matters.
This role requires the ideal candidate to fly to site on the 7th of May and return on the 14th of May.
PLEASE NOTE: 7th is day shift and on the 8th you will transition to nights until the end of the swing
Job Duties:
- Conduct regular maintenance and servicing of safety and emergency response equipment according to established checklists
- Serve as the First Responder for injury and incident management including being available for afterhours oncall support
- Keep site First Aid rooms and ambulances in a state of readiness
- Develop implement and uphold safe work procedures while fostering a culture of safety awareness among staff
- Create and maintain procedures to ensure operations are environmentally sustainable
- Communicate any changes in systems processes and procedures clearly to all team members
- Perform regular inspections of work areas and equipment to ensure safe operational practices
- Participate in and facilitate incident investigations and risk assessments
Requirements

OHN Requirements
- Bachelor of Paramedical Science or accepted equivalent (such as 10 years with a State Ambulance Service with appropriate on road prehospital and remote experience) OR Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Current registration with AHPRA or Enrolled Nurse Qualification
- 3 years of mine site experience
- Collect Specimens for Drug of Abuse Testing Qualified
- Ability to operate MS Office programs
- Advanced Life Support Level 1 and 2 (Desirable)
- Understanding of workplace injury management
- National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- C Class Drivers Licence
MESO Requirements:
- Certificate IV in Healthcare or higher
- Certificate III in Mines Emergency Response and Rescu
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment desirable
- Cert IV in WHS (preferred but not essential)
- First Aid Qualification
- Drug and Alcohol Testing Qualification
- Current National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- Drivers Licence C Class Manual
- HR Drivers Licence desirable
- BG4 desirable
- 3 years of experience in a similar position on a mine site
- Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol screening and PEM
