About this opportunity

The Business Unit Manager is responsible for the endtoend profitability across the Albany site. This role provides direction and day to day management in order to develop and drive a strong consistent culture of operational excellence across the business focused on optimising safety customer service and manufacturing performance.   This role reports to the General Manager Operations Pact Packaging New Zealand (PPNZ) and is part of a collaborative Operational team. 

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Overall responsibility for business unit performance.
  • Quality Health & Safety Performance.
  • Sales and Customer Management.
  • Effective leadership and staff management.
  • Operational excellence and continuous improvement including quality plant reliability productivity sales cost and waste.
  • Responsible for delivering key operational objectives and revenue targets for the business.
  • Agrees budgets and targets for the business unit and ensure such targets are met.
  • Manage key relationships and negotiate deals at the most senior level.
  • Creating a business that our people are engaged and proud of.
  • Promoting training and development through front line leadership development and succession planning.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role youll have:

  • Minimum 5 years senior management experience in a manufacturing or Logistics environment.
  • Leadership role in large complex organisation FMCG or similar.
  • Senior Management experience in an operations role or commercial role.
  • Professional & commercial knowledge and acumen.
  • Experienced in leading and developing high performing teams.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience in driving continuous improvement (people tech process)
  • Collaboration and relationship building skills; ability to quickly form working relationships and gain credibility with senior management.
