Job Description
Position: Casual/Contract Assistant Professor Chiropody 1 Position)
Status: Casual PartTime
Department: Chiropody Academic Program & Clinic
Site: The Michener Institute
Salary: $40.04 $42.48 per hour
Length of Contract: Casual
The Assistant Professor role in the Chiropody clinic is responsible for modelling and demonstrating best practices in clinical foot care in accordance with College of Chiropodists of Ontario standards. This is a critical role that combines excellence in clinical teaching for students while delivering high quality patient care.
- Fostering an effective learning environment and upholding all professional and provincial standards of client foot care
- Evaluating student progress and achievement while providing student feedback and remedial assistance
- Liaising with other faculty and staff at the Michener Institute
Major Elements of the Position:
- Providing quality podiatric assessment treatment and care to individuals referred or selfreferred to the clinical site
- Facilitate a positive learning environment for both the clients and students at the clinic
- Provide feedback on student progress and achievement while providing student advisement and remedial assistance
Qualifications :
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Chiropodist of Ontario required
- Degree and/or Masters level education preferred
- Experience working/teaching in field within last 12 months preferred
- Certification by and membership in OSC and CFPM preferred
- Current CPR and basic first aid
- Current Vulnerability Sector Check
- All immunizations current and up to date
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team
