As part of Projects & Service GS provides Turnkey Projects & Consulting Electrical Balance of Plant HV substations and maintenance & asset management.

The Role:
The Project Procurement Leader (PPL) is responsible for the overall Procurement of our major HVDC / ACS projects.

You will be part of the project leadteam and is operationally reporting to the Project Director and will need to master all interfaces with key functions such as Project Control Engineering Construction
and others.

You will be the leader of the Procurement team within an integrated project and is fully responsible for the overall performance and commitments of your team including Safety Quality Delivery & Cost.

Job Description

Key missions:

The PPL is responsible for:

  • Establishing the Procurement strategy of the project at project start.
  • Managing operationally the Procurement team (between 3 to 8 people) by setting clear priorities controlling progress and supporting when issues arise.
  • Effectively distributing and communicating relevant project information within the Procurement team.
  • Owning Safety Quality Delivery & Cost performances of the Procurement & Logistics scope of the projects.
  • Managing on time delivery (OTD) of all equipment and services in line with project requirement and site activities.
  • Management of our subcontracted activities with the support of the Project Procurement & Logistics Specialist (PPLS).
  • Interfacing and coordinating with all the other functions (Sourcing Engineering Construction Project Control Finance & others).
  • Ensuring that our T&Cs are applied to all our suppliers and subcontractors and define the claim strategy for the project.
  • Monitoring risks and opportunities for her/his scope and setup mitigation plan accordingly.
  • Producing periodic progress monitoring and reporting to all stakeholders.
  • Representing Procurement in project meetings internally and externally when required.

Performance Measurement:

  • On time delivery.
  • Execution within budget.
  • Successful claim management against third parties.
  • NCP (NonConformity) closing time.
  • Objectives and performance measurements are defined on a yearly basis.

Desired Profile & Experience:

  • Leadership ability strong communicator decisionmaker collaborative.
  • Extensive experience in Project Procurement Sourcing or Project Management.
  • Proven experience in effective team management.
  • Focused: quick learner strategically prioritises work committed.
  • General knowledge of Purchasing standards policies procedures and Sourcing management philosophy.
  • Good understanding of legal / contractual aspects of an EPC contract.
  • Risk management knowledge.
  • Ability to work efficiently in crossfunctional teams.
  • Ability to influence.
  • Ability to coach & develop team members.
  • Accountability resilience autonomy and leadership.
  • Problem solving ability to independently resolve issues with difficult suppliers.
  • Knowledge in scheduling / planning of large and complex projects.
  • Technical knowledge of products purchased and power plant familiarity.
  • Continuous improvement and quality mindset.
  • Bachelors Degree & CIPS Advanced Certificate.
  • Languages: Fluent in written & spoken English.
