Specialized Nursing Faculty
Nursing Department
St. Edwards University a nationally ranked independent Catholic university and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) invites applications for a full time 9month position as a Specialized Nursing Faculty in the Department of Nursing beginning August 2025. The successful candidate will provide fulltime didactic clinical skills lab and/or simulation instruction for students within the Nursing program. Faculty must have a strong commitment to teaching and the ability to work effectively with others in a collegial environment. In addition faculty must be dedicated to engaging students in an academic and clinical setting.

Qualifications
For consideration:
As the school pursues CCNE accreditation applicants must have the following credentials:
- Must have a minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Degree and clinical experience within the last two years. Doctoral degree preferred.
- Must hold a valid unencumbered license to practice as an RN in the state of Texas prior to the start date of the appointment.
- All required university state and accrediting criteria for employment as a nursing faculty member must be maintained for continued employment.
- Undergraduate teaching experience is strongly preferred as well as interest in developing simulation learning and online course delivery.
- Must have excellent organizational communication teaching and clinical decisionmaking skills.
- Prior experience with electronic health documentation and simulation is highly desired.
- Experience with and commitment to working with a diverse population.
- Interest in our universitys global initiatives preferred.
- Essential Responsibilities Include: Candidates should have the interest and ability or potential to teach a range of undergraduate courses and support a diverse student body.
- Fulfill teaching requirements: 4/4 teaching loadtotal of 8 classes per academic year or the equivalent.
- Maintain an active high quality scholarship agenda consistent with Boyers Model of Scholarship.
- Interact with local regional and national healthcare representatives to develop experiential learning opportunities for students.
- Provide academic advising and mentoring for undergraduate students.
- Develop new courses and curriculum as needed.
- Participate in assessment of student performance in the discipline.
- Maintain commitment to social responsibility in the classroom in line with the Universitys mission.
- Meet School and University service requirements through participation in committees.
