Overview
The Senior Project Manager Financial Systems plays a crucial role in overseeing complex financial system projects within our organization. This position requires a high level of expertise in managing and implementing financial systems that meet strategic business objectives. The Senior Project Manager will lead crossfunctional teams in ensuring the timely delivery of projects while adhering to budgetary constraints and regulatory standards. In a rapidly changing financial environment the responsibilities of this role include stakeholder engagement resource allocation risk management and the evolution of project methodologies to fit organizational needs. Success in this role will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our financial operations ensuring that the organization retains its competitive edge in the market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and project management combined with exemplary leadership qualities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage financial system projects from inception to completion.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope objectives and success criteria.
- Develop detailed project plans timelines and resource allocation strategies.
- Monitor project progress and performance adjusting plans as necessary to ensure milestones are met.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential project challenges.
- Facilitate regular status meetings with project teams and stakeholders to communicate progress.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and organizational financial policies.
- Maintain project documentation including reports presentations and financial summaries.
- Coordinate testing phases and oversee user acceptance testing to confirm project deliverables.
- Train and mentor junior project staff fostering their development in financial project management.
- Implement project management best practices and methodologies across the organization.
- Manage project budgets and effectively allocate resources to align with financial goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with external vendors and consultants as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements.
- Prepare detailed project status reports and updates for senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of project management experience preferably in financial systems.
- Proven track record of successfully leading crossfunctional teams.
- Advanced knowledge of financial principles and systems.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Experience in Agile methodologies and tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in project management software and financial reporting tools.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to financial systems.
- Experience with change management practices.
- Willingness to travel as necessary for project requirements.
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and shift priorities quickly.
