Assistant Professor Psychology and Counseling Director o

The Assistant Professor/ Director of Field Experience serves as a faculty member in the graduate psychology program and provides administration oversight and coordination of the clinical training component of the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology degree.

Assistant Professor and Director of Field Experience Functions:

  • Support Student Success: Develop and maintain a network of practicum and internship sites including visiting sites (remotely or inperson) and building relationships with site supervisors.
    • Ensure that the field experience component of the program adheres to state(s) licensure regulations.
    • Assist students in site selection and review of application materials for practicum and internship.
  • Technology Management: Manage the technologies used in conjunction with Field Experience procedures including maintaining site affiliation agreements monitoring progress of practicum and internship performance (student supervisor and site evaluations) hour logs and related paperwork such as student liability insurance.
  • DataDriven Decisions: Analyze data related to student field experience to determine its strengths and weaknesses and recommend changes to programs and courses that have a field experience element based on this analysis.
  • Teach and Inspire: Teach six graduatelevel psychology courses per academic year blending inperson and online modalities. One of these may be an undergraduate course or offered as an overload.

  • Licensure as a mental health professional required LMHC preferred.
  • Minimum of a Masters degree Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision Counseling Psychology preferred.
  • Three years of postlicensure practice collegiate teaching experience preferred
  • Familiarity with state licensure regulations and experience with field placement and internships in a higher education setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with students faculty and external partners.
