WERE HIRING: COUNCIL SERVICES ASSISTANT (PARTTIME)

The Office of Council Services is recruiting for a parttime Assistant.

Who We Are:

The Office of Council Services (OCS) provides administrative services to the Council Chair the Councilmembers individual offices and the Councils district offices.

In the Countys legislative process the role of OCS is to staff the County Councils committees and provide objective assistance to individual Councilmembers.

The Council Services Assistant provides general administrative and operational support to OCS within the Support Section. This parttime position operates under minimal supervision and assists in various functional areas including procurement personnel IT support and general office administration.


Examples of Duties

Duties:

  1. Provide assistance across multiple functions of the Support Section including accounts payable procurement personnel IT and health and safety.
  2. Receive and route incoming calls documents mail order shipments and email correspondence.
  3. Assists OCS staff County employees vendors and the public by responding to general inquiries and routing requests appropriately.
  4. Support document production including printing duplicating mailing and distribution of materials.
  5. Monitors and replenish office supplies; assist with basic maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  6. Digitize and file documents records and correspondence using SharePoint and other document management systems.
  7. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Support Supervisor.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in using computers and standard office software (e.g. Microsoft Office suite email cloudbased storage).
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle operators license.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Health and Physical Condition:

Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds and perform routine office tasks including filing standing and walking short distances.

Compensation:$21 per hour (parttime noncivil service position)
