Knox College invites applications for the position of Manager of the Keiner Letterpress Studio.
This is a parttime 10 hour per week temporary position for the nine months of theacademic year. The manager reports to and works under the regular supervision of the Director of the Creative Writing Program.
The Manager for the Keiner Studio is responsible for operations management andpromotion of the letterpress facility in the Center for Fine Arts. The manager will learn the proper use of the letterpress equipment in order to oversee and facilitate its use for student projects. Under the daily supervision of the Director of the Program in Creative Writing the manager supports activities connected to the letterpress in the Department of English in particular Prairie Moon Press broadside series. The manager provides support to faculty who seek to incorporate the letterpress into new and existing courses. The manager is also expected to reach out to the campus community solicit jobs from campus organizations and otherwise promote the work that is done in the Keiner Studio.
Job qualifications: Bachelors degree required.
The shop manager will be required to maintain the highest levels of safety cleanliness and organization with respect to every facet of press operations.
Previous experience in any of the following will be of relevance: printmaking design publication use/maintenance of simple machinery.
Ability to work and communicate successfully with a diverse academic community with respect for multiple perspectives and approaches.
