Maine College of Health Professions is seeking a Social Sciences Faculty to join our team!
This is a parttime 20 hours per week benefit eligible position.

Job Summary:
The Social Sciences Faculty will teach in the Maine College of Health Professions Health Sciences and General Education Division and provide exemplary student support. This faculty position is for applicants who are interested in teaching in the field of Social Sciences.
Depending on the course format faculty will be required to teach facetoface online or hybrid. This position requires that applicants have experience and comfort with academic technology and be willing to actively engage in innovation. The instructor is tasked with creating effective student learning experiences that support student success.
Key Job Responsibilities
Actively engage in activities that advance the mission and goals of the College
Teach Social Sciences courses
Select learning experiences and guide students in achieving desired outcomes
Participate in the evaluation process of students in achieving desired outcomes
Advise students with respect to their performance in the course being taught
Maintain academic expertise
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of educational technology
Knowledge and understanding of sensitivity to and respect for diverse academic socioeconomic ethnic and cultural backgrounds
Skills in effectively managing classes including planning and student performance assessment
Skills in communicating well both orally and in writing
Skills in effectively engaging critical reasoning
Ability to apply learning theory in the classroom
Ability to meet deadlines and perform a variety of tasks under pressure
Ability to be selfmotivated selfdirected and work independently
Ability to adhere to principles of trust integrity teamwork and positive collaboration
Education/Experience
A bachelors degree from an accredited university or college
Two 2 or more years of experience in the assigned subject
Willingness to work according to a flexible schedule (nights and weekends may be required)
Previous teaching experience (academic or professional)
Preferred Qualifications
A masters or terminal degree from an accredited university or college is preferred
Experience in course design instructional delivery and the elements of effective teaching and learning
