Summary of Job Duties:

The Program Associate provides subject matter support in personal finance consumer economics and family resource management. Collects evaluates interprets & develops subject matter information for distribution through the Extension delivery system. Assists with development of and support for statewide programs in personal finance and consumer economics for both youth and adult audiences. Works with others to determine content priorities and emphasis for programming. Coordinates and assists with activities and events such as educational meetings workshops tours field days and other methods. Evaluates and assesses program effectiveness. Prepares required reports. Serves on boards and committees as appropriate to enhance collaboration. Assists with procurement of grants and resources to develop and enhance programs. Manages resources in compliance with policy guidelines.

Program Associates operate in an independent decisionmaking role in the planning & of programs. Work objectives are coordinated with Project Leaders and/or other supervisors but project implementation & management are primarily the responsibilities of the Program Associate. Program Associates are expected to contribute effectively to conceptual framework program design result dissemination educational activities & the pursuit of extramural financial support.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelors degree in family and consumer sciences personal finance or a closely related field with three years of relevant professional experience or a related Masters degree in a relevant field is required.

Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in family and consumer sciences personal finance or related field; background in family resource management or personal finance; experience with nonformal education and evaluation


Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications data management & email programs. Ability to develop & deliver quality presentations. Ability to exercise initiative make sound judgments and work without close supervision. Ability to respond to the needs of supervisors teammates subordinates & clientele.

Travel: occasional as needed
