Job Overview

This Sr Software Engineer works with a team of other software engineers network and systems engineers to design implement and deploy software supporting TMobile for Business (TfB) applications growing a wide portfolio of services including billing analytics customer accessibility and government services. The Sr Software Engineer actively participates in architecture and design of various software components passionate about crafting applications that leverage technologies such as Postgres Java Spring boot micro services platforms and technologies. They work on technical assignments that are moderately difficult requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations. They work on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative understand implications of work and make recommendations for solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

Technical Engineering Services

  • Drives engineering projects by developing software solutions; conducting tests and inspections; preparing reports and calculations. Helps guide the migration of legacy systems to AWS cloud based infrastructure. Encouraged to guide base and associate level engineers as needed.
  • Use full software stack development methods and techniques to meet business requests and ensure our business platforms are continuously improved to maintain efficient operations.
  • Solve debug and upgrade existing applications. Ensure security performance and scalability of applications
  • Write unit and integration tests.

Innovation

  • Contributes to designs to implement new ideas which apply new frameworks to improve an existing or new system/process/service.
  • Review existing designs and processes to highlight more efficient ways to complete existing workload more effectively through industry perspectives.
  • Understands the creation of company IPR.
  • Understands the building blocks interactions dependencies and tools required to complete software and automation work. Independent study of current technology is expected. Interact with system engineers to define system requirements and/or vital requirements for automation.

Technical Writing/Communication

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills able to work optimally within a collaborative team environment and mentor junior team members.
  • Participate in architecture discussions code reviews and sprint planning. Collaborate with multifunctional teams including designers QA and DevOps.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree Computer Science or Engineering (Required)
  • 47 years Technical engineering experience. (Required Experience: Minimum 5 years as a Full Stack Developer.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Required skills include:

  • Backend Technologies: Proficient in Java Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPA.
  • Frontend Technologies: Expertise in Angular 8 TypeScript HTML5 CSS3 and SCSS.
  • Database Management: Handson experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL or Oracle. Ability to build and manage scalable secure and highly available databases using Amazon RDS with PostgreSQL.
  • SQL Proficiency: Deep understanding of SQL syntax including DDL DML and different types of joins. Proficiency in writing stored procedures functions and views using PL/pgSQL.
  • PostgreSQL Expertise: Familiarity with PostgreSQLs features extensions and standard processes. Knowledge of PostgreSQL index types CTE temporary tables table partitioning and data types like json jsonb and bytea.
  • Cloud Development: Develop cloudnative applications using AWS services such as EC2 S3 Lambda RDS and API Gateway.
  • Development Tools: Familiarity with Git Maven/Gradle Jenkins and Docker.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • API Development: Build RESTful APIs and integrate with thirdparty services.

Preferred skills include:

  • Containerization: Exposure to containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Testing Frameworks: Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (e.g. JUnit Jasmine Karma).
  • Infrastructure as Code: Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g. AWS CloudFormation Terraform).

Licenses and Certifications:
Certifications: AWS certification (e.g. AWS Certified Developer Associate) is a plus.

Base Pay Range: $113600 $205000

Corporate Bonus Target: 15

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidates actual pay will be based on various factors such as work location qualifications and experience so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At TMobile employees in regular nontemporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a yearend bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employees eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
