ABC10 the TEGNAowned ABC affiliate station in Sacramento CA is looking for a Visual Storyteller/Photojournalist. This candidate must thrive working in a fastpaced environment develop sources and story concepts and edit stories on your own or with a member of the ABC10 team. Our ideal candidate is familiar with the latest video equipment to tell visual stories editing tools and techniques.
Responsibilities:
Shoots and edits breaking news general assignments sports and feature stories for ABC10s broadcast and digital platforms
Be assigned to either work in a team or solo for daily news assignments working collaboratively with the team to ensure the best content is gathered and published on all platforms
Ability to multitask assignments while constantly monitoring quality control
Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures webcam interviews etc. to enhance stories.
Operate live shots with TVU Dejero microwave or satellite truck
Knowledgeable in advanced lighting skills for broadcast
Contact sources and develop news stories
Attend editorial meetings participate in discussions and suggest story ideas
Take still photographs
Safety consciousness and situational awareness on live shot locations and events
Requirements:
BA/BS in journalism communications or related field
35 years of experience preferred
Clear understanding of the principles of journalism
Experience in photojournalism editing and content management systems
Demonstrated social media proficiency including an active news gathering on platforms like Facebook Instagram and X (formerly Twitter)
Demonstrated news judgment writing skills photography experience and nonlinear editing skills.
Must be flexible with schedule reliable and dependable
Knowledge of ENPS EDIUS nonlinear editing programs and Axis graphics
Must have a valid drivers license able to lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally up to 80 lbs. with or without accommodation
Pay Range
$25 $28.50 USD
