Description / Position Overview
- Fleet Services Coordinator SafetyThe City of Colorado Springs is ready to welcome a Fleet Services Coordinator for the Fleet Fuel & Safety team! As a Fleet Services Coordinator you will coordinate with the City Risk Management department to develop implement and execute a comprehensive Fleet Safety Program. You will conduct monthly safety inspections identify and correct safety deficiencies conduct safety training facilitate monthly safety briefings investigate and report safety incidents monitor PPE and first aid inventories order and restock first aid supplies coordinate annual vehicle lift inspections and repairs develop track and report on safety KPIs all at multiple Fleet Management locations for over 40 Fleet Management employees.

Job Type: Fulltime; 40hours/week Exempt
Work Schedule: Monday Friday; 7:30AM 4:00PM. The position is subject to emergency call out
Annual Range:$64712.99 $77686.66

Click this link2025 Salary Schedule to view the salary range for this position.As a Fleet Services Coordinator you will:- Ensure compliance with all relevant Federal State and local environmental health and safety laws and regulations to include the City Safety Manual Fleet Safety Manual and OSHA 29CFR1910
- Design execute and update Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs and policies in compliance with legal requirements regulatory standards and sound management practices
- Maintain accurate records of EHS activities incidents training and compliance efforts
- Prepare and submit required regulatory reports and documentation
- Develop reports and presentations for senior management on EHS performance and initiatives
- Perform risk assessments and job hazard analyses to identify potential safety concerns including routine audits of all fleet locations and implement corrective measures to address identified risks
- Assist Risk Management in Municipal Facility Runoff Control Program administration (MFRCP)
- Oversee and manage the Safety Footwear Program and the Safety Prescription Safety Glasses Program
- Oversee and facilitate forklifttraining and certification planning
- Perform and document safety meetings including new hire training and ongoing training for existing staff
- Coordinate annual Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) lift inspections and lift operation training
- Plan schedule and coordinate safety training programs for staff such as right to know hazard communication techniques in hazardous material handling hazardous waste management machine and tool safety and the general subjects of occupational and environmental hygiene
- Update and maintain existing Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans to ensure compliance
- Conduct annual SPCC plan training and discharge response drills while ensuring proper supply distribution and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and spill response gear
- Conduct and coordinate required inspections and testing of storage containers secondary containment systems sand traps and ensure annual compliance
- Coordinate and submit the annual Hazardous Materials Management and Emergency Reporting System (HAMMERS) plan and inventory to the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD)
- Manage the Opacity Compliance Plan by preparing and submitting the annual plan tracking opacity testing and coordinating with state audit requirements

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Knowledge of:- Relevant Federal State and local environmental health and safety laws and regulations such as Municipal Facility Runoff Control Program administration (MFRCP) Hazardous Materials Management and Emergency Reporting System (HAMMERS) and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC)
- OSHA 29CFR1910 regulations
- Risk assessments and job hazard analysis

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Demonstrate clear and concise communication orally and in writing
- Motivate participants and encourage participation in training sessions

Minimum Qualifications
- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED)
- Three years of fulltime professional experience in a related field
- Possess or obtain upon hire a valid nonprobationary Colorado drivers license not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges

Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of fulltime experience with safety program administration
- 3 years of fulltime experience in program administration
- Experience working in a governmental environment
- Possess or willing to obtain within 1 year of hire CPR and AED certifications
- Possess or obtain within 1 year of hire a Colorado UST Class A certification
- Experience with Hazardous Material handling disposal and manifests
- Experience with SPCC MFRCP and HAMMERS programs
- Experience with Colorado SelfCertification Opacity program
