Potential SignOn Bonus: $3000 paid over 1 year
The Security Officer II is responsible for providing security screening services that seek to create a safe and secure environment for the hospital community. The Security Officer II undertakes activities designed to identify deter abate or correct situations; both routine and emergent that are within the scope of responsibility for the department as they occur on hospital owned or controlled property.

Responsibilities
- Patrol hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire theft vandalism and intruders.
- Monitor conduct of visitors on hospital premises.
- Confront unauthorized persons for questioning as needed.
- Screen visitors patients and team members at entrances.
- Report safety and/or fire hazards or security violations.
- Complete incident report on any significant security incident or concern relays safety related information as appropriate
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or highest level of postsecondary education
- 1 year relevant safety and security experience
- Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for workrelated reasons
- Must obtain Iowa weapons permit and be Taser certified within 30 days
- Certification from International Association of Healthcare Security & Safety (if not certified must obtain certification within 90 days) or commiserate experience
- Ability to deescalate violent aggressive or disruptive persons
- Use of critical thinking in a high stress environment
- Excellent observation skills
Preferred:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in criminal justice law enforcement preferred
- Military law enforcement and/or security experience is highly preferred
