The Branch Safety Supervisor ensures compliance with all safety regulations and company policies at the hauling branch and landfill. They lead safety training conduct regular audits and investigate incidents to promote a culture of safety and accountability. This role plays a critical part in minimizing risk and ensuring the wellbeing of all employees and site operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety
Develop and disseminate weekly safety messages and maintain Safety postings in Facilities
Assist and participate in preparation/presentation of safety meetings
Coordinate with EHS to make proper notifications if needed
Assist Supervisors in accident investigation and response
Primary liaison with local Medical Clinics for DOT Physicals Drug Screens and WC Treatment
Ensure Compliance with Quarterly Random DOT Drug Screens
Assist in New Hire Orientation/Employee SetUp
Assist with Route Observations / Maintain Tracking Log / Upload to SEMS
Review DriveCam Events Daily and take appropriate actions based on findings
Compliance
Participate in all monthly facility inspections and followup on Action Items from prior inspections. Upload into SEMS
Manage compliance tasks including weekly inspections of site security sediment basins emergency spillways NPDES outfalls etc.
Coordinate maintenance/cleaning of stormwater ponds
Participate in Weekly Fleet/Yard walks
Enter all Monthly Trainings in SEMS
Main POC for any regulatory inspections from local inspectors
AST/UST Inspections
Maintain/Update all Safety and Compliance Emergency Plans
Requirements:
BA or BS Degree desired or equivalent experience.
23 years experience in waste industry desired.
Must be able to meet relevant criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards
Valid Drivers License
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Proven leadership and communication skills.
Physical/Mental Demands:
Ability to stand sit walk use hands and fingers reach stoop kneel crouch talk hear and climb.
Visual Requirements: include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
Work in office environment 80 of the time.
Noise level is usually moderate.
Work in motor vehicle traffic conditions occasionally
Some travel required.
